National Post Article – Canada’s Vehicle Contribution to WWII

Dear C&E Association Members,

Below is a link to a National Post article that discusses Canada’s WWII contribution of the Valentine tank and Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) truck.  The article attempts to put into context the latest debate over the sale of LAV III vehicles to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the fact that many of these WWII vehicles were provided to the Soviet Union military – arguably one of the most repressive regimes in recent history.  Nevertheless, the article does offer an interesting view of our military history and another incredible contribution made by Canadian industry that aided in the ultimate defeat of Hitler.  Perhaps the article may be of interest to some of our veterans who may have served in these ubiquitous Canadian platforms.
