The Conference of Defence Associations (CDA) organized, hosted and conducted an Information Session with the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) team Tuesday December 8, 2015. They invited representatives of CDA Member Associations (including the Communications and Electronics (C&E) Association) and other interested parties (including Government and the Legion) to participate in this unique Roundtable event.
The event featured a presentation by, and questions and answers with key members of the CFMWS team. The main presentation was given by Major-General Mike Ward (Ret’d), CEO/Associate Director General, CFMWS. Jo-Anne MacDonald, CFOne Membership Program Director for the CFMWS made a presentation about the CFOne program. Col (Retired) Jeff Holt and CWO Normand Dubois, ATIS Tech Senior Trade Advisor attended the event representing the C&E Association.
The presentation given by the CFMWS team, was highly informative. It included information on the relationship with SISIP, the CF Appreciation Program, Support our Troops Program, Transition Services, the CFOne card and more. All the information is potentially of interest and use to C&E Association Members both serving and retired. There was also a good discussion of the valuable efforts of the Legion and its Branches working with Veterans Affairs to assist Veterans, and it included a key reminder that you don’t have to be a member of the Legion to get their help in understanding and getting needed veterans services. The usefulness and value of the CFOne card to both Serving and Retired Military and their families was also highlighted.
C&E Association Members are strongly encouraged to go to the link here to see the CFMWS presentation given at the event, as well as new information on the CFOne program.
